Job overview

A substantive part-time opportunity has arisen within the Inpatients Senior Admin team  for an experienced administrator to join the Senior Administration Team within the Adult and Specialist Rehabilitation Division. The post holder will provide designated supervisory support to the admin on the wards and provide a Senior adminstration role to the matrons.   Strong administrative experience and IT skills are essential, as is the ability to work autonomously and manage conflicting priorities.  NHS experience is preferred but not essential, more important is a ‘can do’ attitude and high standard of professionalism, as this role is directly supporting the management team in striving to ensure our teams and services are a ‘Great Place to Work’ and provide Safe High-Quality Care to patients. The role is based at within the inpatients service.  Informal discussions about the role are welcome.

You will be required to travel based on Service needs across the city to cover MHH, WHH, AMH, PTC & CU27 when required. 

Main duties of the job

This role requires a high level administration ability, working to strict deadlines and a high standard of confidentiality and discretion. The post holder is required to work effectively with all members of the team to support the effective running of the department. Provide administration support to delegated members of the Senior Management team. Manage Microsoft Outlook diaries, ensuring commitments are recorded accurately and timely and any resources required are booked.

  • NVQ3 in administration or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Experience

  • Significant experience in an administrative or business support role
  • Demonstrating ability to line manage / supervise member of staff
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of undertaking service audits
  • Experience working in the NHS or public sector

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Competent in advanced information technology systems Word/ Excel/ Access/ PowerPoint/ Outlook
  • Ability to understand budget reports and to create, populate and maintain spreadsheets
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and delegate when necessary
