Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a new Risk Management Coordinator at our Trust Headquarters at Priestley Wharf.  We have a dedicated workforce of compassionate, skilled professionals who are well supported and we are committed to making Birmingham Community Healthcare a great place to work.

As Risk Management Coordinator you will provide high level, comprehensive business and administrative support for the Corporate Risk Management Department of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust ensuring a systematic and effective service is delivered including advice, support, training and administration of the Trust’s Integrated Risk Management System DATIX

 

The post holder will monitor and maintain the effective administration of DATIX, a business critical information system, including management of Incidents, Medical devices and risks as well supporting the reporting and management of Serious Incidents. The post holder will be responsible to the Risk Management System Development Manager and Medical Devices Lead.

There are no direct budgetary responsibilities.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE or equivalent skills/ knowledge/ relevant experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of working across organisational boundaries
Desirable criteria
  • Significant in-depth experience of the Datix software system and associated Modules

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Must be able to work to work using own initiative in a self directed manner
  • Have the ability to plan and prioritise workload, particularly in the light of conflicting priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate on a one to one or group basis at all levels of the organisation and external to the Trust
  • Demonstrate high motivational levels and have the ability to motivate others
  • Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence
  • Results orientated and comfortable with delivery against tight timescales
  • Highly developed, in-depth specialist risk management knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of current policy direction in NHS

  • Ability to work across various sites within Birmingham and travel to venues external to that of BCHC
