We are seeking a motivated and passionate registered Consultant Psychological Professional to lead the continued development of colleagues’ post-incident response support, under the portfolio of the Chief Psychological Professions Officer for the Trust. This is a new and exciting substantive leadership position . It builds on the committed work that is already in place across our Birmingham and Solihull services focusing on our post-incident response support for our colleagues. In this role, you will provide clinical leadership in the development and delivery of psychological post-incident response support, working closely with our People Team, Trust Occupational Health providers and divisional service colleagues. You will have delegated responsibilities for the out of hours Psychology on-call provision. You will also be eligible to participate in this out of hours Psychology on-call provision. Your leadership experience and expertise in co-production, change management and quality improvement are key to the successful impact of this new substantive role. This position will have an administrative base at the Trust HQ, however it is expected that you will be working in an agile and flexible way with pre-planned attendance at our Trust sites as required.
Main duties of the job
As a highly experienced Consultant level practitioner psychologist, equivalent applied psychological professional practitioner, you will be responsible for the development, provision, evaluation and governance of psychological post-incident response support, including reflective practice for colleagues, and delegated responsibility for the coordination of out of hours Psychology on-call provision, within the portfolio of the Chief Psychologist for the Trust. You will also be eligible to participate in this out of hours Psychology on-call provision given the seniority of your role.
To provide clinical leadership in the development and delivery of psychological post-incident response support, including reflective practice for colleagues and delegated responsibility for the coordination of out of hours Psychology on-call provision. You will be expected to take responsibility for identified key service development issues in keeping with the Locality, portfolio and Trust strategic plans linked to post incident support. To propose, oversee and implement policy and service development changes for post incident support across service areas provided to. To have a liaison role with all commissioning and provider partners including Trust Occupational Health providers for post incident support as required.

This role gives the opportunity for hybrid working and you will typically be asked to work in a hybrid way, working from your home and also from Trust HQ The Uffculme Centre, or any other agreed site.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Entry-level qualification in applied psychological therapy/mental health/social welfare profession or equivalent and demonstrable practice in this field (i.e. professional Doctorate, or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level/supervised practice/additional training) that has been accepted for the purposes of professional registration.
- Additional training beyond entry-level qualification in a specialised area of psychological practice (through formal post-qualification training (PG Diploma or equivalent), OR a combination of specialist short courses and/an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice–based learning in a specialist area of clinical psychological therapy practice, assessed by a registered body and/or an experienced clinical supervisor to be of equal level to a Postgraduate Diploma or higher.
- Completed training course in clinical supervision and/or accredited to supervise qualified psychological practitioners in relevant discipline
- Registered with professional body or regulatory body as appropriate to psychological therapy discipline i.e. HCPC/UKCP/BACP/BABCP
Skills/ Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of the field of Clinical/counselling/health/forensic psychology, or equivalent psychological applied practice, consistent with doctoral level professional training and further post qualification study, training and supervised experience as a qualified psychological therapist.
- Skills in the use of highly complex methods of psychological assessment commensurate with doctoral level training, including specialist clinical interviewing, behavioural observation, complex psychometric testing and specialist neuropsychological testing.
- Advanced skills, commensurate with doctoral level training and post qualification training and experience, in the formulation of highly complex problems from a psychological perspective and in the implementation of highly specialist psychological therapies, interventions and management techniques that are appropriate for use with highly complex presenting problems.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Considerable experience of working as a qualified Practitioner psychologist, or equivalent psychological applied practice, including post qualification experience in the designated function with which this post is concerned.
- Relevant post-qualification experience, and formal training in supervision, enabling the post holder to independently supervise clinical psychology trainees in accordance with relevant criteria adopted by local University Clinical/Counselling Psychology Training Course criteria.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for the psychological care and treatment of referred clients, and of working within a multidisciplinary context wherein carries responsibility for the psychological aspects of a multidisciplinary care plan.
