Job overview
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual who is passionate about supporting in the management of risk at Tamarind Centre and demonstrates excellent leadership skills.
The individual will provide leadership and support to the control room and security liaison team. You will be accountable for ensuring that a high level of customer service is delivered to all visitors, service users and staff. You will provide evidence based security advice and support, ensuring that we are working within processes, policies and guidelines, working towards improving the service.
Tamarind Centre supports service users with severe and enduring mental health issues in an interdisciplinary way.
Main duties of the job
- provide 24hr responsibility for the staff teams Control room and Security Liaison team
- accountable for the management and provision of a high level of customer service
- provide managerial supervision and support to the Control room and Security Liaison team
- providing evidence based security advice and support to all disciplines
- accountable for managing the Control room and Security Liaison budget
- establishing and maintaining strong relationships between Control room/security and clinical services at all levels
- responsible for the development and implementation of procedures relating to systems and the dissemination of such to all staff
- collate and analyse date relating to incidents connected to Control room and Security functions for presentation at meetings in the service
- taking action to rectify and improve the service
- liaising with outside agencies to manage complex issues
- responsible for preparing Quality Network and CQC inspections

Essential criteria
- Relevant first level degree or equivalent level of education or equivalent experience • ILM or equivalent post graduate management/leadership qualification or equivalent demonstrable managerial experience
- Understanding of current national guidance for MSU security. Experience working within a secure setting. Experience of managing receptions or security functions in a mental health setting. Experience of providing training programmes and training modules.
- Well developed verbal presentation skills Standard Keyboard Skills Ability to actively engage in restraint through competence in AVERTS Experience and ability to manage and resolve conflict in an effective manner. Highly developed knowledge of IT with the ability to interpret, analyse and understand IT information across various systems.
- Drive, energy, enthusiasm and determination. People management skills. Resilient and ability to work in a demanding environment
