Band 3 – Diabetes Administrator
37.5  hours per week -12 Month Fixed Term Contract

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced medical administrator to join the Endocrinology and Diabetes department at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The post holder will play an important role providing admin support to Specialist Nurses, Junior Doctors, Consultants and Medical Secretaries within this busy department and three wider MDT’s within BCH and the wider NHS.

Candidates will be self-motivated and possess or be working towards an RSA II qualification (or equivalent) or an AMSPAR certificate or have comparable admin/medical secretarial experience. You will enjoy working within a multi-disciplinary team and have the ability to relate to young people, parents and members of the public.

Main duties of the job

To provide a comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to the Diabetes MDT,  NHSE funded Alstrom, Wolfram and Bardet Biedl syndrome (BBS) MDT clinics. This includes organising and coordinating all clinics.

 

To provide secretarial/admin support to the Diabetes Nurse Team and Consultants to help facilitate an efficient service. Being the first port of call for all admin queries from the Diabetes nursing team.
