Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Specialty Registrar

Flexible working:

Flexible working arrangements may be considered and discussions with the recruiting manager regarding this are encouraged.

Job overview

The department is seeking to appoint four Clinical Fellows at registrar level in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. These posts are available to commence as soon as possible and are fixed-term for a period of six months.

There may be the opportunity for candidates to apply for longer-term posts arising from this service development, including potential 12-months appointments.

Main duties of the job

These posts offer an excellent opportunity to gain broad experience in both obstetrics and gynaecology within a busy tertiary unit. Successful candidates will work as part of a large, supportive multidisciplinary team and will contribute to the care of women with a wide range of obstetric and gynaecological conditions, including those requiring specialist and complex care. The posts are particularly well suited to candidates wishing to develop or consolidate registrar-level skills in a high-volume, clinically diverse service with strong senior support.

The weekly timetable will include a predominantly fixed job plan, with duties across obstetric and gynaecology services, including clinics, delivery suite, ward rounds, acute and emergency care, and theatre activity as appropriate to service needs and individual experience. There will be opportunities to gain experience across the breadth of general obstetrics and gynaecology in a major teaching hospital environment.
