Job overview
To work alongside the Head of Nursing, General Manager, and the Clinical Leads to ensure that services are managed effectively and support the delivery of service agreements to qualitative and quantitative performance targets and within the Trust’s financial allocations.
To lead the Division’s annual planning process to ensure there are clear goals and objectives and a jointly owned performance measures against which progress throughout the year a can be monitored. Ensuring positive clinical engagement in strategically developing services.
To support the Director of Operations, and the senior leadership team in leading the Division in strategic planning, development and redesign of services.
Main duties of the job
To achieve all local and national performance targets as decreed in the
Operating framework.
Within the Clinical groups, to lead on the development of partnerships
with external agencies and other NHS organisations to support the
delivery of BWC services within the local healthcare environment.
To support the Director Operations and Associate Director of Nursing in
ensuring the Division meets all its specific responsibilities in relation to
Care Quality Commission core standards, through the establishment and
maintenance of effective governance systems and processes.
To provide senior strategic leadership to the project management of
divisional initiatives
To maintain an income and expenditure balance for the Management
Group through delivering the agreed savings programme as part of the
financial plan.
To ensure that a robust workforce plan is in place to support the delivery
of the plan, ensuring staff feel engaged and valued.
To lead and manage complex projects including service
development/capital developments, as required, improving capacity,
service efficiency, quality and capability and including large scale
organisational change.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Masters degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of senior operational management experience within the NHS Acute Sector
- Significant experience of managing NHS Targets and performance
- Experience of leading service and/or transformational exchange
- Experience of the management of complex projects.
- Working with and directly influencing clinicians
- Flexible across the various Trust locations
