Job overview
This role is perfect for a SLT with post-graduate experience of working with autistic young people, who is keen to develop and extend their assessment and therapeutic skills in this specialist area. The successful applicant will be fully supported to develop both professionally and personally in this role.
Parkview Clinic provides regional inpatient mental health care to young people aged 11 to 18 years, via their specialist eating disorder and general adolescent wards.
Through SLT leadership, the service has achieved Specialist Autism Accreditation Status; formal recognition of high-quality care provided to autistic patients. Although not an autism-specific service, this is highly relevant as autistic people are significantly more vulnerable to developing mental health conditions than the general population.
The successful applicant will join the established inpatient SLT team and become an integral member of the wider multidisciplinary team. They will have a key role in contributing to the multidisciplinary assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of those patients who additionally have autism/social communication and/or language difficulties.
