Over view of the job role:
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic fellow to join our Uveitis and Medical Retina Team. The post will provide a comprehensive experience in managing complex uveitis and medical retina conditions. Applications are welcome from suitable candidates interested in career in Uveitis and Medical Retina. The applicants should demonstrate within their application that they are fully trained in General Ophthalmology and are registered with General Medical Council.
This Job is for fixed term of 12 months starting in August 2025.

Main duties of the job
The Fellow will attend specialist clinics in Uveitis and Medical Retina under the supervision of the Consultant. The post offers wide clinical experience in the management of scleral and intraocular inflammatory diseases and complex medical retinal diseases. The Fellow will have the opportunity to acquire skills to assist in providing major sub-specialist service in a tertiary level eye centre. The fellow will also gain experience of working in a multidisciplinary clinic in National Centre of Excellence for Behçet’s Disease.
The Fellow will be expected to actively participate in the diagnosis, management and follow up of patients under the care of the Consultant. They will be expected to take part in weekly teaching sessions and monthly uveitis meetings. They will be expected to undertake cataract surgery under supervision and, where appropriate, unsupervised. The Fellow will also be required to lead an acute uveitis clinic once a week under the guidance of Consultant and will be expected to participate in the general on-call rota. There will be opportunities to undertake research and audit projects during the tenure of this post.
