An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Medical Administrator role within one of our Liaison Psychiatry departments across the trust.
You will be part of a multi disciplinary team based on the Heartlands hospital site in Birmingham. The specialised team of practitioners work on the frontline of undertaking psychiatric assessments whilst developing safe and effective clinical management plans.
The Liaison Psychiatry Service is an innovative and award winning team delivering mental health assessment, intervention, care planning, signposting and onward referrals for patients in acute hospitals, initially developed in Birmingham in 2009. We work to address the mental health needs of people receiving physical health treatment from ages 16-years and upwards. Common presentations include deliberate self-harm, depression, dementia and psychosis. We assess people in A&E and from any ward/medical specialty across the hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing a confidential, professional and competent service to the Consultant Psychiatrists and medical team. The post holder will undertake a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties which includes digital audio transcription of complex clinical letters, reports, summaries and other correspondence as required, whilst ensuring a high degree of accuracy in medical terminology and clinical details. Cover for administrative staff across Urgent Care (as and when required) will be a requirement of the role.

- Previous Administration experience within the NHS of 1+ year
- Text Typing experience
- Good communication skills
