Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for a part time Admin Assistant to work within our friendly Podiatry Admin Office based at Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre.
The admin team provides an important and integral part of the day to day running of the Podiatry Services through providing a telephone booking system and administrative support to the clinical teams who are based throughout the community.
You will be a part of small team of administrators, you will be an adaptable and confident team member who also possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be resilient and enjoy working closely with a team in a demanding environment.
Effective communication skills are vital as you will on a daily basis dealing with telephone calls, booking, rescheduling and cancelling appointments, processing referrals, dealing with queries and passing on information to the Podiatry Services Admin & Clinical Team Leads and the Clinical Teams via, email, telephone and in person.
Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient, comprehensive and confidential administrative service to the Community Podiatry Service and to provide an efficient telephone / reception service to patients and their relatives / carers, initiating any necessary action.
To play a key role in contributing to the day to day provision of an efficient, effective and robust service ensuring that it is patient centred with a customer focused and personalized approach.
This role requires communication links across the whole healthcare sector and may involve conflict resolution.
The post holder will take an active part in the change management processes in the development of systems and services as appropriate.

Essential criteria
- Maths & English to GCSE Level grade C minimum or equivalent qualification.
Desirable criteria
- Level 2 or above qualification in relevant field: NVQ Level 2 or above (e.g. Business Administration, Customer Service, etc), GCSEs or A Levels or equivalent qualifications.
- Recognised IT qualification
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding of confidentiality and Data protection.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work under pressure in a busy office environment
- Experience of using Microsoft Office packages
- Customer service experience.
- Able to cover for colleagues during periods of leave
