Transfusion Administration Assistant

The post-holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Transfusion Practitioner team

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

·    Booking training and competency assessment sessions and recording training completion by employees.

·    Responding to telephone and email enquiries.

·    Assisting with blood component traceability requirements by liaising with clinical areas to obtain evidence of transfusion in line with MHRA regulations.

Training and competency assessments

To support the organisation and delivery of training programmes to staff, including preparation of facilities and resources and booking training and competency sessions.

To book staff onto the sessions and provide them with appropriate information and resources as directed by the TP team.

To enter training and competency data into ESR to ensure accurate records of compliance with mandatory training are maintained

To enter training completion and allocate user barcodes to manage access rights for blood collection on the BloodTrack system

Traceability

Liaise with Blood Bank to identify blood component units for which no evidence of traceability has been received. Contact / visit clinical areas to retrieve documentary evidence of transfusion.

  • Evidence of good standard of education in numeracy and literacy at minimum GCSE C/4 grade or equivalent. (Level 2)
  • Computer literate with previous experience/knowledge of using Microsoft Programs

Experience

  • Experience of data entry and retrieval of information from databases
  • Demonstrates an understanding of confidentiality
