Decontamination Technician

Job overview
As a trained Decontamination Technician you will be responsible for carrying out specialist cleaning processes using hydrogen peroxide vapour machines and UV machines and to assist with routine cleans and terminal cleans as required. You will be required to develop relationships / communication and teamwork with healthcare personnel. Your attention to detail and dedication to responding to the needs of each clinical area will be imperative in the reduction of risk of infections to our patients.

Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
- GCSE Maths and English grade A to C or equivalent (O Level etc)
Knowledge and Training
Essential criteria
- IT Skills - Use of Microsoft packages
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of cleaning activities
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting
- Previous work as a cleaner or related service experience
Communication and Relationship Skills
Essential criteria
- Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Proven team worker able to establish and maintain good relationships with other team member and with service users.
- Ability to work under own initiative
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
