BAND 4 NURSING ASSOCIATE

Fixed Term Contract (11 months) – 37.5 hours per week 

An opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Associate to join the Day Case Theatres Ward (Day Surgery Unit) at Russells Hall Hospital.

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development and implementation and evaluation of programmes of care . You will be required to actively participate in the teaching and supervision of other non-nursing staff and students.

Applicants will be a Registered Nurse Associate with NMC and have experience of working in an acute hospital setting and deliver high quality, compassionate care with a focus on promoting health and independence.

You will need to be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with members of the team, patients and relatives. A commitment to develop own skills and develop nursing practice is essential for this role.

Main duties of the job

Principle Duties & Responsibilities are: -

  • To manage a group of patients during a shift and achieve and maintain a high standard of nursing care.
  • To have an in depth knowledge of the Nursing process and promote and support the use of the agreed model of individual patient care.
  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care for individuals ensuring a high standard of nursing practice at all times.
  • To assist in the implementation of appropriate action to meet the specific physical , emotional and psychological, social, cultural and spiritual needs of individuals and carers.
  • To communicate effectively with patients and visitors and ensure that their needs for information are met.
