Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 2 administrator to work with a busy but friendly Oncology & Haematology environment.
The successful candidate will support with preparation of clinic notes, follow-up clinic appointments, forward planning for clinics, patient meet and greet and any other Admin tasks as required.
This is a permanent post and would suit someone looking to join a dynamic team and support with providing excellence in patient experience.
Main duties of the job
To ensure the patients' medical records are maintained in the correct manner from admission to discharge. Also, to provide an efficient reception, telephone and clerical service to the Georgina Unit, including inputting of information into the computer systems.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE Maths & English Grade C or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- NVQ 2 in Business Admin or equivalent
Knowledge and Training
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Accurate keyboard and data entry skills
Desirable criteria
- Proficient in the use of NHS systems eg: Sunrise, OASIS
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous administrative and clerical experience
- understanding of confidentiality
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in a similar role
Communication and Relationship skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Able to communicate with other staff, patients and relatives
- Excellent customer service skills
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
