Job overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for band 5 physiotherapist to join the Community MSK Assessment & Physiotherapy Service (CMAPS). The service includes MSK rehabilitation, First Contact Physiotherapy, Advanced Physiotherapy & the administration team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive Band 5 MSK Physiotherapist to join our physiotherapy service. The post will allow you to hone your MSK skills, lead exercise groups and support with service developments.
There are excellent CPD opportunities in a friendly & supportive environment that includes a weekly clinical support group, regular clinical supervision, access to APP's, IST as well as access to external courses via CPD funding.
Main duties of the job
- To perform comprehensive assessment of Musculoskeletal (MSK) patients to identify treatment targets based on sound clinical reasoning skills
- To be confident in the use of a wide range of evidence based treatment techniques for multiple MSK pathologies
- To be competent in assisting patients with pain management with a variety of approaches and skilled communication techniques
- To assist senior colleagues in the development of the MSK service
- To lead the development and provision of rehabilitation classes

- BSc/Diploma/MSc Pre-Registration in Physiotherapy
- Evidence of relevant post-graduate courses/CPD

- Evidence of IT skills or course

Essential criteria
- Sound knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions and effective management strategies
- Knowledge of appropriate subjective assessment including specific questions relative to specific conditions
- Demonstrate safe objective assessment and able to perform in a timely manner
- Sound understanding of evidence based treatment interventions underlined by a good level of clinical reasoning
- Knowledge of the key questions to identify sinister pathology in MSK practice & when to escalate to senior colleague
