Job overview
Chamomile Suite is a purpose built 10 bedded inpatient facility based at the Barberry, Edgbaston. As part of the specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service, the inpatient suite offers 24-care to women experiencing mental health problems, shortly before they give birth or following the birth of their baby. Mothers are admitted together with their babies to receive mental health treatment, prevent separation from their infant and engage in therapeutic activity to aid their recovery and promote bonding.
The multi-disciplinary team includes psychiatrists, mental health nurses, an occupational therapist, health care assistants and nursery nurses. We are currently looking to recruit a Nursery Nurses to join our well-established team.
Applicants must be highly motivated, professional and be able to work in teams. We will be looking for individuals who have a particular interest in working with infants, and occasionally older children, combined with a desire to support women in crisis.
Care is provided over a 24 hour period and team members work rotational shift patterns to cover day shifts, night shifts, weekends and bank holidays. Experience in Mental Health is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job
The Mother and Baby Team provide a comprehensive regional service for mothers with mental illness and their babies. This is a specialist service working within a multi-disciplinary setting

To assist in the provision of quality, evidence based Nursery Nurse advice, support and care under the guidance of a qualified nurse for service users and their infants within a multi-disciplinary setting.
