The Oncology Patient Pathway Coordinator will play a proactive and pivotal role in registering, monitoring, and tracking patients through their cancer pathway, ensuring that each patient’s journey is processed in a timely and efficient manner in line with the National Cancer Waiting Times Targets.
The post holder will work within the Gynaecology and Oncology team to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that coordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
To have a clear understanding of the patient pathways and have the ability to escalate potential delays to ensure optimal care and a positive patient experience.
Provide high quality, administrative support to the cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT) within the Trust.
Main duties of the job

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good standard of education, English and Math’s GCSE A-C/O-level or equivalent.
- 3 years’ experience in a healthcare environment
- Ability to prioritise own work, liaising with other staff & teams
- Understanding of Data protection issues and the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Proficient in computer skills, ECDL or equivalent Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team/with all levels of staff, via telephone, e-mail, face to face and team meetings.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, sympathetic and approachable manner
- Reliable and flexible
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Desirable criteria
- A Levels/BTEC or equivalent level of knowledge of a range of trust policies and management procedures.
- Specialist experience and expertise in Cancer Waiting Times Targets
- Experience of working with hospital systems
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
