Band 6 Community Nurse – Birmingham Learning Disability Community Forensic Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Birmingham Learning Disability Community Forensic Team permanently. Our multi-disciplinary team works with individuals who have a learning disability and have committed a serious criminal offence or are at significant risk of doing so. 

Main duties of the job

  • You will be an experienced Nurse with significant post registration experience within Learning Disabilities Services.
  • You will hold a registration in Learning Disability Nursing / Mental Health Nursing.
  • The post holder will have forensic clinical experience as well as knowledge and experience of conducting forensic risk assessments and developing and implementing risk reduction interventions.
  • The post holder will be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be part of BCHC Community Learning Disability Service of which the Community Forensic Team offer a citywide service across 5 localities. Your main base will be at The Greenfields with an option of working across our other two bases. You will be part of an MDT that offer safe, high quality care and promote a great place to work with health and wellbeing offers, staff networks and the opportunity for career development and progression 

You will have a passion for person centred care and integrated team working. You will be supported and supervised by a senior Community Forensic Nurse within the team. Car drivers and access to a car for work purposes is preferable. In return for your dedication and commitment we offer opportunities to develop your career potential.
