Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist – Stroke (Ridge Hill)
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our established Stroke Therapy Team, providing high‑quality assessment and intervention across the acute stroke unit and bedded rehabilitation unit.
This is a new and exciting opportunity for a therapist with stroke experience Confident in clinical decision‑making around dysphagia and communication rehabilitation to deliver high quality care across our Stroke pathway including a new specialised Stroke Rehabilitation Unit based in a community setting.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties of the job
To provide an effective and efficient speech and language therapy service to adults in bed based setting. You will manage a specialist adult caseload in this clinical area. Duties will include providing a specialist level of clinical expertise in the assessment, treatment and management of adults with swallowing and/or communication difficulties, planning therapy programmes and discharge of patients.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
- Member of RCSLT
- Registered with HCPC
Desirable criteria
- Member of CEN relevant to client group
- Evidence of attendance on relevant specialist courses
Experience
Essential criteria
- Post graduate dysphagia training and experience
- Proven relevant clinical experience at post graduate level
- Experience of multi disciplinary team working
- Experience of managing complex cases
Desirable criteria
- Experience of supervising undergraduate SLT students
- Experience of supervising Speech and Language Therapy Assistants
- Relevant experience with Voice outpatients and Voice disorders.
