Main duties of the job
Due to development in the pharmacy technician role and expansion of our services there is an opportunity to come and join our team and work as part of the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Secure Care Services (SCS) in the post of Pharmacy Technician Band 4/5. We have funding available for one full time 37.5 hour permanent position, which can be used in any combination of full-time, part-time and job-share working.
The Secure Care Services have a well-developed and highly respected pharmacy service, with input to all service clinical teams and wards. We are a small but friendly and highly driven team striving to provide the best possible pharmaceutical care for our service users.
Our pharmacy team covers four sites across Birmingham, totalling almost 250 inpatient beds, which comprise of men’s secure, women’s secure and child & adolescent secure services in addition to an expanding community service therefore flexibility in approach and regular travel will be required to support the needs of the service. You will have the opportunity to develop your medicines management and optimisation skills in addition to dispensary-based duties.
The successful candidate will be expected to work in a challenging and dynamic environment but will be supported throughout their career in the Trust and will be provided with a comprehensive induction, and on-going training as relevant.

- NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences or completing qualification this year
- Registered as a pharmacy technician with GPhC
Desirable criteria
- ACPT qualification
Knowledge and experience

Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a mental health setting

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
