Job overview
Are you a current qualified Band 6/7 pharmacist internal or external looking for your next challenge and keen to experience a further range of clinical specialties?
An opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our rotational STEP Band 7 pharmacist programme.
We are looking for someone with drive, enthusiasm and commitment. You will have excellent people skills and the ability to work with and influence staff at many levels.
Experience of working in hospital within a patient focused environment is essential while a keenness to use knowledge, skills and experience to improve patient care through the delivery of efficient medicines management services (including out of hours services & on-call) is essential.
The programme will allow you to gain the skills and experience to meet the requirements of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Foundation Framework and will provide you with a portfolio of evidence for further career progression.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide high quality pharmaceutical services to key areas on rotation including neonatal wards, critical care, aseptics and nutrition specialities (to name a few!) as well as contributing to core ward commitments, including weekend and on call services.
There will also be opportunities to gain leadership skills by co-ordination of specific teams of the clinical pharmacy service, alongside participation in Trust projects and departmental governance objectives within set rotations.
Working for our organisation
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWB) serves Birmingham and the Black Country – one of the country’s most culturally diverse areas. It’s a friendly and welcoming place – a place where you can belong, and a place where you can grow.
We care for our patients, we care about our population, and we care about our people.
Our values – Ambition, Respect and Compassion – are at the heart of who we are. They guide us every step of the way; how we work with each other, and how we look after our patients and their families; how we respect and value the rich diversity of our team and our community.
Our Trust has always aspired to be more than a hospital, more than a healthcare provider. Our purpose is to “Improve the Life Chances and Health Outcomes of our Population.” It is what inspires, drives, and unites us every day. It’s what makes us unique.
We want working at SWB to feel like more than just a job. We want our Trust to be a place where you can feel you belong. A place where you feel happy, safe, and rewarded. A place where you can develop your career in whatever way you choose. When we say we’re ‘with you all the way’ we want you to know that we mean it. Visit the SWB website to find out more about our ambitions and people plans.
