Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitable candidate to play a crucial role as an administrator for the Heart Failure Team at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will liaise with a wide range of staff and patients to deliver an excellent level of care. You need to be self-motivated, well organised and a good communicator. 

Please note - this vacancy is a fixed term role for 12 months.

Main duties of the job

  • Process patient referrals along the heart failure pathway
  • Answer all telephone calls and pro-actively deal with queries, liaising with the clinical staff where necessary
  • Organise weekly MDT meetings and take minutes/actions
  • Book patient appointments
  • Deal with incoming emails and post
  • Co-ordinate patient notes to ensure they are ready for clinics
  • Be responsible for ordering and maintaining stock

Qualifications & Education

Essential criteria
  • GCSE or equivalent in English & Maths - Grade C or above
  • Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Training

Essential criteria
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of excel, word, powerpoint in particular
  • Commitment to training and supporting others
Desirable criteria
  • OASIS system / E-referral knowledge
  • Experience of managing conflict, frustration or complaints

  • Previous Administration experience
  • Experience of handling calls and enquiries
  • Ability to work with confidential material and maintain confidentiality

  • Previous experience working in the NHS/Healthcare environment
