NHS AfC: Band 7

Trosolwg o'r swydd

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, proactive Nurse Specialist to make a significant difference to the health outcomes of adults with epilepsy in the West Midlands. This is a full time, band 7 (consideration would be given for a band 6 developmental post) based within the
Department of Neurology at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT). The post-holder will be based within Shropshire, providing services to people living in the county and its surrounding area.
The successful applicant will work as part of the expanding neurological team here at RWT. The postholder will be provided with expert clinical leadership and support from our established team, which includes a Consultant Nurse for the Epilepsies, a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists for the Epilepsies and a Consultant Neurologist with specialist interest in epilepsy.

The post holder will play a key role in the delivery of neurological services throughout the Trust. You will be expected to exercise a high degree of professional autonomy and to make critical judgements
using specialist knowledge; you will provide the highest standard of holistic patient care for patients with epilepsy.

You will be responsible for the organisation and management of your own workload
and commitments to facilitate clinics in various locations throughout Shropshire and the surrounding area, adapting and prioritising as necessary. Current clinic sites are in Shrewsbury and Telford, with
plans to offer clinics in other towns as the service develops.

Applicants should be highly motivated, dynamic and will play a pivotal role in epilepsy and neurology nursing service development, in line with national guidance. The successful candidate will work with
the wider multi-disciplinary team for the benefit of people with epilepsy.

The post will require you to run and maintain nurse-led clinics independently. You will have responsibility for assessing patients and subsequently devising, implementing and assessing an
individual’s comprehensive epilepsy care plan. You will also play a major part in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients with refractory epilepsy and those with Non Epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD).
