Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within our Severe Mood disorder service based at Barberry and Oleaster centre and we are looking to recruit a band 4 healthcare support worker full time. The purpose of this post is to deliver high quality care to patients in our severe mood disorder service which provides repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) service to patients. This treatment is vital for patients suffering with treatment -resistant depression and can really make a change to their lives.

We're looking for a creative team player with good interpersonal, communication skills and IT skills to join the severe mood disorder service team. We are keen to help you develop into this role and our friendly team will support you with a structured orientation focusing on developing competencies relevant to this role. A willingness to undertake other trainings related to this role specifically on the delivery of rTMS, as well cannulation, ECG is essential. As we develop the team dynamically, there will be opportunities for further, interesting career progression.

Main duties of the job

We are starting the provision of rTMS between Monday and Friday.

 

Key duties include:

•                     To administer rTMS and related activities under the direction of and as part of the clinical team.

•                     To be involved in administrative duties as required in the clinic/department in liaison with colleagues.

•                     To provide support to clinical staff and act on own behalf within department/service guidelines.

•                     To act on own initiative, organize own workload and represent the service within the scope of departmental policy

•                     Other duties as agreed by Lead Nurse

•                     All staff have an obligation to participate in the Trust's incident reporting system and to participate in and comply with the procedures and techniques for managing risks.

•                     Ability to work within the boundaries of their existing and developing skills at all times
