Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which commenced in 2021

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a friendly and supportive team within the Paediatrics Department at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to provide efficient, effective, and comprehensive administrative support to Ward 21 and the Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU).
This is a key role within a busy department, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting high-quality patient care through excellent administrative service.
Main duties of the job
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to Ward 21 and PAU
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Liaise with staff, patients, and families in a professional and compassionate manner
- Support coordination of appointments, admissions, and discharges
- Handle general office duties including data entry, filing, and telephone queries

NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 286,700, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and the continued upgrading of existing areas ensures the Trust now has a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit facilities. Work is also now complete on our multi-million pound new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre which houses a new Emergency Department (including Children’s Emergency Department), co-located Pediatric Assessment Unit.

- Demonstrable experience of administrative & clerical systems and processes.
- Experience in Microsoft including Outlook, Word and Excel

- Previous ward clerk/reception experience.
- Previous experience of working in a hospital environment
- Previous experience of working with the public sector.
