Are you a motivated and flexible individual looking for an innovative and rewarding role as a pharmacy technician within primary care?

If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen in Your Health Partnership Primary Care Network for a pharmacy technician to join our integrated Medicines Management Team.

Main duties of the job

  • To work under the supervision of the Lead Pharmacist and Senior Clinical Pharmacists to ensure the safe, accurate and timely supply of prescribed medication to patients.
  • To provide technical and administrative support to the Clinical Pharmacists and Clinicians.
  • To support the primary care team with queries around medication from patients; including face to face and telephone support to patients, primary and community staff.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant amount of post-registration experience
  • Recognises priorities when problem solving and identifies deviations from the normal pattern and is able to refer to seniors or GPs when appropriate

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BTEC / NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmacy services
  • Completed or willing to enrol on to start 18-month training pathway (e.g. Primary Care Pharmacy Educational Pathway or Medicines Optimisation in Care Homes)
Desirable criteria
  • Pharmacy Clinical Services Professional diploma (BTEC level 4) or other relevant qualification

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • An appreciation of the nature of GPs and general practices An appreciation of the nature of primary care prescribing, concepts of rational prescribing and strategies for improving prescribing
