Job overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Support Secretary to join Community Paediatrics as part of the Children's Services Group at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.

As part of the role you will work closely with the wider medical secretarial team, providing a comprehensive secretarial service to members of the medical and nursing teams, as well as taking the lead administrative role as part of the Child Death Review process.

This is a full time position, working Monday - Friday, based at the Gem Centre Neachells Lane Wolverhampton

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work as part of a secretarial team, providing a comprehensive support secretarial service to Community Paediatrics. The post-holder will possess excellent clerical and communication skills, ensuring the highest level of confidentiality is maintained at all times. 

Principal duties will include word processing of digital dictation, raising purchase orders for equipment, administration work surrounding patient attendance, responding to enquiries and covering for colleagues during absences.  We require a highly motivated person with proven ability to prioritise multiple tasks. You should possess a minimum of OCR 3 (or equivalent) word processing and desirably be a competent audio typist.

As the lead administrator for the Child Death process, you will be required to communicate complex, sensitive and contentious information with a range of stakeholders. 

Knowledge of medical terminology and PAS is desirable, however training will be available.
