Job overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Cardiac Rehabilitation team as a National Audit Data Entry Clerk. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care by ensuring accurate and timely data entry to the National Audit of Cardiac Rehabilitation (NACR). The successful candidate will contribute to the continuous monitoring and improvement of our service, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to maintain the highest standards of patient safety and service performance.

Main duties of the job

Accurately input patient and service data into the National Audit of Cardiac Rehabilitation (NACR) database within required deadlines.

Maintain data quality through regular checks and validation to ensure compliance with national standards.

Support the team in the preparation of reports and performance monitoring information for local and national use.

Liaise with clinical and administrative staff to ensure that data capture processes are efficient and effective.

Handle sensitive and confidential information in line with Trust policies and data protection regulations.

Provide general administrative support to the Cardiac Rehabilitation service as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will play a vital role in supporting the Cardiac Rehabilitation service through accurate and timely data entry into the National Audit of Cardiac Rehabilitation (NACR). This information is essential for ensuring the service meets national reporting standards, monitors outcomes effectively, and provides assurance to commissioners and regulators.

Key responsibilities include:

• Inputting patient data into the NACR database promptly and accurately, ensuring compliance with local and national deadlines.

• Supporting the quality of data collection by carrying out regular validation, audits, and cross-checks to maintain accuracy and consistency.

• Assisting with the preparation of routine and ad-hoc performance and audit reports, contributing to service monitoring and evaluation.

• Communicating effectively with clinical and administrative colleagues to ensure complete and up-to-date information is captured.

• Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information in accordance with Trust policies and GDPR regulations.

• Undertaking general administrative tasks that support the smooth running of the Cardiac Rehabilitation service.

• Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and escalating any issues in data quality or processes.

• Participating in relevant training and development opportunities to maintain skills and knowledge.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly as part of a team, demonstrating attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting high-quality patient care through accurate data management.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSEs (OR EQUIVALENT) INCLUDING ENGLISH AND MATHS
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ LEVEL 2/3 IN ADMINISTRATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous administrative experience in a healthcare or office environment
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with clinical or patient data

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and data protection
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of cardiac rehabilitation or other clinical services

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office [Excel, Word, Outlook]
Desirable criteria
  • Experience using NHS databases or audit systems
