Job overview

To manage the Catering Services across the Trust; to lead, develop and manage the catering resources and to promote a cost effective, efficient, quality service to the patients, staff and visitors of the Trust.  The Catering Manager is also a key member of the Hotel Services management team and will be expected to fully contribute to the overall performance and development of Hotel Services.

Candidates must hold  food safety certificates and be experienced, ideally with a Management Qualification. 

Main duties of the job

To ensure that Food Services are effectively provided on a day to day basis by monitoring and active operational management. 

To monitor service levels for efficiency and make recommendations to the Head of Hotel Services on service change.

To take specific responsibility for communications ensuring catering staff are regularly and accurately briefed regarding service developments

  • Management Qualification to Diploma Level or the equivalent knowledge
  • Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience of working in a large organisation preferably NHS
  • Ability to communicate on a range of complex and conflicting issues
  • Basic IT skills for recording and extracting data & able to deliver presentations
