Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the recently formed Black Country Pathology Service by the joining together of four Trusts: Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust and Walsall NHS Healthcare Trust.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who would welcome the challenge to join our friendly team in this hospital laboratory and participate in the delivery of a single integrated, high quality pathology service to the Trusts and GPs in the area as a hub and spoke model.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited for an experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist post within Cellular Pathology. To assist in the day to day running of the laboratory under the supervision of the Technical services Manager, as well as participating in all technical duties and scientific aspects of a Cellular Pathology department.
This post presents an opportunity to be part of an excellent team working in a busy and spacious hospital laboratory. You should show evidence of continuing professional development and be able to demonstrate good planning, organizational and interpersonal skills as well as evidence of competence in problem solving and prioritizing workloads. Excellent communication and multitasking skills are essential for this post.

BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences.
Completed IBMS Specialist Portfolio
Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
To practice competently in all areas of a histological laboratory
