They will play a key role in further developing renal services, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, primary care partners, and regional networks to deliver integrated, patient-centred care.
The post holder will also participate in the consultant out-of-hours on-call rota, providing specialist nephrology advice and support for major incidents when required.
Why Join Us?

We welcome applications from consultants who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and helping shape the future of renal services within a thriving NHS Trust.
Main duties of the job

- Participate in outpatient clinics, inpatient ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and specialist renal services.
- Provide clinical leadership and support to junior medical staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to education, training, clinical governance, quality improvement, and service innovation initiatives.
- Participate in the consultant on-call rota for nephrology services.
The successful candidate will join a well-established and supportive multidisciplinary team comprising:
- 13 Consultant Nephrologists
- 2 Renal Matrons
- 1 Nurse Consultant
- 6 Renal Specialist Nurses
- 41 Ward Nurses
- 6 Senior Clinical Fellows
- 4 Medical/Clinical Registrars
- 18 Junior Doctors
The renal wards are supported by dedicated junior medical staffing, including medical registrars and foundation/core trainees. In addition to renal commitments, consultants participate in the general medicine rota and contribute to both acute inpatient and outpatient general medical services.
