Sister / Charge Nurse on the Durnall unit
We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 Sister to support our immunotherapy / Chemotherapy unit based on Durnall at new cross hospital. We offer a range of immunotherapy / Chemotherapy treatment as well as supportive treatments, a triage service for acutely unwell Oncology and Haematology patients and Hot clinic slots for a variety of conditions.
Our patients and their families are dealing with challenging and difficult treatments which require our team to be highly sensitive, adaptable and an expert- in side effects and communication skills. You will need to share our passion for delivering personalised patient experience and will understand the needs of the team required to deliver this.
You will be a visible nurse and role model for junior peers within our clinical areas. You will contribute to the delivery of high quality professional standards whilst supporting improvements in patient safety, patient experience and effectiveness of service.
We are enthusiastic about introducing a new recruitment package for trained nurses in early 2024 and you will support the successful recruitment and development for these staff members
You must have a current NMC Registration and have worked or be working towards a health-related degree. Experience in this area of nursing is essential and you must have completed your SACT course
Main duties of the job

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, Oncology and Clinical Haematology Directorate deliver high standards of care to patients receiving chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive treatments working in conjunction with the wider MDT e.g Palliative care
We ae looking to recruit a highly motivated registered nurse with relevant Oncology/Haematology experience and up to date knowledge to complement our existing team within the Durnall unit day case unit. The successful applicant will be qualified and competent to administer chemotherapy treatments and aspire to further develop their leadership skills in the field of Oncology and Haematology nursing. We offer an on-going professional development opportunities supported by Specialist nurses and an established Acute Oncology team.

You must have or be working towards a health-related Degree. Experience in this area of nursing is essential and you must have completed an appropriate SACT course. Experience at a minimum Band 6 with leadership is necessary
