Job overview

The successful candidates will work as part of a team to provide a safe, effective, efficient care environment for patients, ensuring that this promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person-centred care principles. This will involve working at both New Cross and Cannock Chase Hospitals.

Carry out a full range of registered nurse duties, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s condition and care with support from the nurse in charge. Maintain the privacy and dignity of all patients whilst adhering to Trust and policies and NMC code of conduct. The role involves gaining competency in procedures specific to urology including assisting with flexible cystoscopy, prostate biopsies, lithotripsy and urodynamics and completing a catheterisation course.

Maintains a safe environment when caring for patients and maintain accurate up to date legible written documentation.

Uses effective communication, written and verbal with all levels of staff including the multidisciplinary team, patients, and relatives.

Adheres to the agreed procedures as identified, and promotes by example, a high standard of good quality nursing care in the department

Main duties of the job

Daily duties will be to work as an individual and as part of a team within an outpatients and diagnostics unit which has services at both New Cross and Cannock Hospital.

Along with supporting doctors and specialist nurses with consultations, the post-holder  will develop a variety of skills having completed in-house, competency based training to assist with  variety of diagnostic procedures.
