Job overview
As a paediatric clinical support worker you will be working under the guidance of the nursing team and senior sister to deliver high quality clinical care to our patients.
You will be a valuable member of our team and in return we will invest in our staff with a comprehensive induction programme and providing further training and paths for progression.

Main duties of the job
To assist the nursing team to provide high quality care to our patients.
To work within the multidisciplinary team and utilize effective communication to promote excellent patient care.
To help patients meet their hygiene and nutritional needs
Help escort patients safely throughout the hospital to different locations
Help maintain ward IPC standards
Maintain training compliance.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· To provide the highest standard of nursing care for patients under supervision of a registered nurse.
· To carry out assigned tasks including direct care and indirect care as delegated by the nursing team.
· Demonstrate effective communication skills both verbal and non verbal.
· Demonstrate high standards in record keeping.
· Support registered nursing staff with clinical treatments and investigations as appropriate, to the level of knowledge and skill.
· Escort of patients to other departments within the hospital. Ensuring patient safety & dignity is maintained.
· Chaperone Patients, during clinical examinations as and when required, ensuring the patient’s privacy and dignity is maintained throughout.
· Adherence to Trust Infection Control Policies

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ Health and social care level II or working towards or holds equivalent qualification
Desirable criteria
- GCSE in English and Maths
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Demonstrate Effective Communication skills
- Experience of working within a Multi-Disciplinary team
- Able to work with IT Systems
Desirable criteria
- Recent experience of caring for children within a health care setting

- Shift pattern to cover 24/7 365 days a year.
