Job overview

We have the opportunity to support Assistant Practitioner apprenticeships within our community Integrated Network Teams across Sirona, delivering healthcare to community and rehabilitation clients in their homes . Our staff collectively see thousands of people every day in community hospitals, health clinics and in patients’ own homes.

An exciting opportunity is available for the right candidates to undertake the Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship (Therapy Pathway). The right candidates will need to demonstrate that they are highly motivated, problem solvers, demonstrate good time management, and a willingness to succeed using Sirona's values and behaviours. The apprenticeship is a mixture of academic study and imbedding the theory and skills whilst working in a highly skilled and supportive team.

As an Assistant Practitioner Apprentice, you will be based within integrated team and work as part of the multi disciplinary team.  You will develop within this post commencing on a fixed term Band 3 AFC until completion of the Apprenticeship where you will be guaranteed an interview for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner role upon successful completion.

The apprenticeship study day consists of protected apprenticeship study time   and opportunities to put into practice the skills attained into your primary role.

Main duties of the job

Healthcare Assistant Practitioners work as part of the wider health and social care team and have direct contact with patients, providing high quality and compassionate care. Assistant Practitioners work at a level above that of Healthcare Support Workers and have a more in-depth understanding about factors that influence health and ill-health (e.g., anatomy and physiology). Upon successful completion of this standard, individuals will have obtained the core skills, knowledge, and values/behaviours to become an Assistant Practitioner at Band 4 Level.

On successful completion of the Healthcare Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship and as part of Sirona’s vocational career pathway you would be eligible to apply to progress onto Registered Practice, the apprenticeship can provide credits into some Higher Education programmes aligned to professional registration such as Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy or other AHP professions .

Due to the nature of the apprenticeship, we are looking for especially motivated candidates. People who see a problem or a challenge and work through and around it in innovative ways. If you think you are ready to commit and undertake this exciting 2 year apprenticeship please apply.
