Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic individual to join the supportive and innovative ENT team at St. Michael's Hospital as an ENT Advanced Practitioner (AP)
Qualified AP's will work closely with an allocated ENT Consultant as a supervisor. The successful candidate will work on an 80/20 contract where your 20/5 non clinical will include support of the ENT team service development/ education of juniors/CPD , which ensures development across 4 pillars of Advanced Practice.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, and management of 2ww ENT patients in the outpatient setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcome.

Essential criteria
- Registered Health Care Professional
- NMC/HCPC/GCP/GPhC Registration
- Evidence of formal ongoing professional development
- Succesfully completed Advanced Practice Masters and equivalently mapped to apprenticeship standard
- Evidence of teaching, supervision and assessment skills
- Non Medical Prescribing NMP
- ALS willing to undertake

- Recent significant experience at band 8a or equivalent in an ENT clinical setting
- Proven leadership and management experience in the acute setting

- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload effectively
- Change management and ability to present ideas effectively
- Familiar with current local and national issues
Desirable criteria
- Undertaken research as a chief or principle investigator
- Experience of developing advanced practice guidelines, governance and audit
- Experience in developing a ENT service

Essential criteria
- Possess the skills and wide range of clinical knowledge to work as an autonomous practitioner and undertake independent, direct consultation and provision of care
- Function autonomously to achieve the strategic developments working without direct supervision. Identify and critically appraise contemporary evidence, develop and promote best practice, ensuring strong clinical leadership
- Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of protocols, policies and integrated care pathways in line with current best evidence
- IT literate
