Locum Consultant in Gynaecological Oncology 10 PA
The appointment is for a locum 10 PA Consultant in Gynaecological Oncology. The post is based at St Michael’s Hospital.
The appointee will be a Gynaecological Oncology clinician who has completed sub-specialty training in Gynaecological Oncology. Additional ATSMs complementary to the existing department would be welcomed.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to participate as a full team-member of the tertiary Gynaecological Oncology team, including contributing to audit and research in the service. Experience in robotic surgery would be desirable.
The post holder will be expected to participate in emergency ‘hot week’ cover, and there is a non-resident (1 in 15) on call covering Gynaecology only.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
- Full and specialist registration in either AIM or GIM with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview *Locum candidates do not need specialist registration
Desirable criteria
- Higher academic qualification e.g. MD, PhD or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in Gynaecology
- Subspecialty training in Gynaecology Oncology
- Able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of a special interest and expertise that complements those of other consultants in the department and is consistent with the Trust’s service strategy
Clinical Knowledge and skills
Essential criteria
- Up to date knowledge and experience of relevant specialty
- Knowledge of NHS priorities with reference to specialty

- Broad range of IT skills
- Robotic experience desirable
