Band 7 Occupational Therapist – Medical Respiratory Therapy Team Lead BRI site.
Fixed term with end date of 25/10/2026, full time (37.5 hours per week 1.0 WTE)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, experienced Occupational Therapist who has recent acute and respiratory experience, who enjoys working in a fully integrated Therapy team to join our fantastic team of Band 7 leads in the BRI Med/Resp team. This is a great opportunity to gain some band 7 Team Lead experience in this fixed term post.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who has advanced skills in acute and respiratory medicine, who can treat and manage complex medical patients in an in-patient environment and is confident to challenge current practice and ensure that our patients receive up-to-date evidence-based treatments.
You will be naturally empathetic, demonstrating good communication skills to facilitate close working relationships with both service users and staff.
You will need to be creative and flexible to meet the changing needs of the caseload and service.
You will demonstrate leadership qualities and take an active interest in the teaching and development of others. The role will also include profession specific supervision to the Occupational Therapist working in the Medical Team.
You will manage your own caseload, alongside overseeing the workload of the other team members
There will be a commitment to 1:4 weekend working + 2 bank holiday throughout a year.

Essential criteria
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC UK registration
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of further qualification (MSc or equivalent) in OT or respiratory
- Member of RCOT
- Management & leadership training
- Member of local/national Clinical Interest Group (D)
