Our exciting and ambitious plan “Embracing Change, Proud to Care – Our 2025 Vision” is seeing significant investment in Adult Therapy Services in order to grow our specialist hospital services positioning ourselves as a leading provider in the Southwest of England and beyond.

We are a beacon for outstanding education and research and offer an excellent range of rotations and provide superb training and support.

There are seven rotational areas on the Bristol site which include Older Peoples Therapy, Medical rehab and respiratory, Neuro, Trauma & Orthopaedics and Critical Care surgery & Cardiac. There are five rotational areas on the Weston site including Acute and general Medical, Medical respiratory, Stroke & Trauma & Orthopaedics.  We are also able to offer an Acute stroke rotation at North Bristol Trust (Southmead Hospital). The rotations are six months in duration. 

In this role we can offer access to the Preceptorship Programme, support with professional development and learning opportunities. Support is provided by peers, senior colleagues and Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapists. We are proud to have an Occupational Therapist as the Therapy Lead for our Integrated Adult Therapy Service as well as an Occupational Therapist as the Trust AHP lead.

We are able to support sponsorships for employment, but unfortunately, we are unable to support relocation packages at this time.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

As part of an integrated therapy service, you will report to a Band 7 Occupational Therapy and/or Physiotherapy team lead in your clinical area. In all areas you will be able to access senior Occupational Therapy professional support and training and development opportunities. In turn you may also provide support and supervision to technicians and students.

We are looking for Occupational Therapists who are keen to gain clinical experience within a friendly, forward thinking, and supportive Adult Therapy Service. The successful candidate would be joining a large and dedicated integrated team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Therapy Technicians. You must be an effective team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.

Depending on the rotation area you may be contributing to a 7- day rota pattern.  You will also work up to 2 bank holidays per year.

  • Other related experience in a care or rehab setting, either before or after qualifying

  • Able to recognise own supervisory needs & responds positively to suggestions for development
  • Able to explain the OT role to others

  • Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people that is consistent with their level of understanding, culture, background & preferred method of communication
  • Basic IM&T skills
  • Evidence of regular professional reviews and/ or portfolio
