Job overview
University Hospitals Bristol is looking for a fully trained MSK X-ray reporting radiographer to join the established team of 12 Reporting Radiographers.
The successful candidate will provide reports within the agreed scope of practice but will have the opportunity develop their reporting skills into other area's of X-ray reporting (such as CXR/AXR), fully supported by the Radiology department.
Participation in weekend and evening reporting duties is expected however his can be performed from home with the provided home reporting workstation.
There will be line management responsibilities, mentoring and supporting junior staff and learners within the department, further developing the candidates leadership skills

Main duties of the job
Construct and provide accurate reports within their level of competency, working to achieve agreed report turnaround times.
To co-ordinate and assist in the provision of the professional and technical service of X-ray imaging in the Diagnostic and Therapies Division.
To provide an effective and high quality service within resource allocation, providing a professional safe service to the patients, ensuring a patient centred approach.
Vetting of requests to ensure they are appropriate and justified and protocol them accordingly.
Ensuring staff meet professional standards and maintain their competencies.
To promote education and training across the whole of radiology and actively participate in training all types of learners and improvers within radiography.
To demonstrate a high level of personal expertise in X-ray imaging, have an in-depth knowledge of the equipment and to be able to apply this knowledge to produce high quality images with comparatively low radiation doses optimisation.
To support the delivery of the Radiology service at both operational and strategic levels as required.
To assist in the responsibility for the standards of care provided within X-ray imaging.

- Post grad cert MSK X-ray Reporting
- HCPC registration
Knowledege and experience
Essential criteria
- Show experience in MSK X-ray reporting
- Demonstrate effective communication skills
- Evidence of teaching health care professionals from a range of specialties
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrate leadership skills
- Demonstrate evidence of research, audit or service evaluation projects
