Paediatric Dietitian - Inherited Metabolic Disease & Barth Syndrome

Band 7

Job overview

Are you looking to further your experience as a specialised paediatric dietitian whilst working as part of a dynamic forward-thinking team in a tertiary children’s hospital? We are a friendly department of 32 dietitians, supported by dietetic support workers, Special Feed Unit staff and an administrative team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, pro-active specialist paediatric dietitian to join our inherited metabolic disease team. This role will provide a tertiary and secondary level service throughout the South West for children with inherited metabolic diseases and will also be the dietetic lead for the national NHS Specialised Service for Barth syndrome.

Main duties of the job

To apply for this post, you will ideally have clinical paediatric experience in at least one specialist area alongside leadership skills to ensure high standards of clinical care and knowledge. Excellent multidisciplinary networks are active within the clinical specialty.

We have advertised this as a full time 12-month fixed term maternity leave post at band 7 level, but will consider a suitably experienced AfC band 6 paediatric dietitian.

Our department is committed to student training, quality improvement, research and audit. All staff are supported with regular meetings with their supervisor. We pride ourselves on our commitment to continuing professional development.

We have good clerical, dietetic support worker and IM&T support.  We are part of the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). Bristol is a vibrant, fun city that is full of opportunities and a gateway to the Southwest.

We actively encourage you to contact us regarding this post in advance and we welcome any questions you may have. Please call 0117 342 8011 and ask to speak with Camille Newby or Victoria Wilkins. Alternatively, you could email [email protected]  or [email protected]

Interviews will be held via an online platform.  You will be expected to complete a 10-minute presentation as part of the interview process.
