Job overview

Based in the Children's Outpatient within Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, you will provide a warm welcome and support to patients and visitors attending appointments in the department.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing a friendly welcome to patients and visitors to the clinic.
  • Engaging with staff to support the flow of patients during their time spent in our hospitals, updating parents/carers with waiting times.
  • Signposting parents/carers to other support and services, as required.
  • Restocking and providing resources i.e. leaflets or activity packs and preparing information packs, where applicable.
  • Keeping parents/carers and patients company, engaging in conversation and utilising resources, where available. 
  • Providing water to parents/carers and patients when agreed by staff. 
  • Locating wheelchairs and taking them to the clinic for use by parents/carers, as requested.
