In this post you will have the opportunity to work across the key areas of the Trauma & Orthopaedics including both trauma and elective pathways at our well established Weston site. This is an exciting opportunity to delve into the T&O speciality and develop your skill and expertise.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of an integrated team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists  and Therapy Technicians who work closely together on a day to day basis allowing plenty of opportunity for informal learning and peer support. 

You will have protected and regular clinical supervision from your allocated mentor, but also be well supported informally on a day to day basis by our senior leads team.

Knowledge and Experience 1

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working as part of a Physiotherapy team and/or multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of working within the T+O Pathway
  • Contributing to clinical education/supervision of less experienced staff, students or nonregistered staff
  • Experience of discharge planning
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of previous experience & participation in audit
  • Previous experience at Band 6

Skills and Abilities 1

Essential criteria
  • Effective communication skills both verbal & written
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to plan, prioritise & delegate

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • A variety of experience in core areas as a postgraduate physiotherapist e.g. Care of the Elderly, MSK, respiratory & neurological, dealing with a wide range of patients with differing needs
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Health Professions Council registered
Desirable criteria
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Involvement in Relevant Special Clinical Interest Groups

Skills and Abilities 2

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate Assessment, Analytical & Reflective skills across a diverse patient group
  • Ability to effectively perform patient assessments & interventions, including manual therapy & therapeutic handling
  • Knowledge of clinical Governance & its application to Physiotherapy
