Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Neurological Rehabilitation Service based at Rayners Hedge in Aylesbury.  As the Therapy Assistant you will be supporting the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams to provide client centred neurological rehabilitation.

This post will suit a motivated, hard working and enthusiastic person who wishes to work within a multidisciplinary team whose aim is to enable clients and their families to live a meaningful life alongside their neurological condition. 

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to assist qualified therapists in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of neurological rehabilitation programmes. You may work with clients within the clinical base, their home or within the community. 

You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, work experience with people and/or within a therapy environment, excellent IT and a willingness to develop and grow into the role.

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Good general education
  • Current driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant NVQ, QCF, or RQF qualification
  • Exercise/anatomy/BTEC or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Expertise in relevant work e.g. work experience within rehabilitation/therapy/personal trainer
  • Experience of working with people
Desirable criteria
  • Healthcare experience
  • Desire to work within physiotherapy/occupational therapy.

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge

  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to safely manage manual handling tasks.
  • Ability to assume responsibility for a delegated caseload of clients.
