With ground breaking new medicines on the horizon, we are looking for an ambitious and motivated Lead Respiratory Pharmacist to drive innovation and deliver exceptional care across Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) and the Integrated Care Board (ICB).

Main duties of the job
- Lead the way in respiratory pharmacy – Oversee medicines management, ensuring the safe and effective use of new and existing respiratory treatments.
- Drive innovation – Take a proactive role in evaluating and embedding new medicines and advanced therapies into clinical practice.

Support and develop the team – Provide expert leadership, training, and mentorship to ensure the development of trainee pharmacist and junior rotational pharmacists.

Enhance patient outcomes – improving care for patients with conditions such as asthma and COPD, implementing new medicines.

Ensure financial sustainability – Offer strategic financial insights to optimise medicines use and support cost-effective prescribing.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
- Registered Pharmacist: Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
Desirable criteria
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Post-graduate diploma in clinically pharmacy or recognised equivalent
- Independent Prescribing qualification
- RPS faculty Stage II accreditation
- Education qualification
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- At least 4 years experience of hospital pharmacy at Post Registration Pharmacist level
- Significant experience of delivery of pharmacy services to a broad range of specialties including medicines and surgery
- Experience of delivery of clinical pharmacy service to a specialist level
Desirable criteria
- Experience in pre-registration training
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
Essential criteria
- Able to travel to other sites within the Trust and to venues for training
