Job overview

The Interim Director of strategy will take a lead role in overseeing and co-ordinating the implementation of the Trusts recently published five-year vision, mission and clinical strategy which is focused on delivering outstanding care, a great place to work and healthy communities.

The role will help develop the future for the organisation, scan best practice and ensure that our strategic plans align with the system ensuring delivery of that future.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will work closely with the Executive team to develop and support the delivery of each of their component parts of the strategy and will ensure the Trust strategic initiatives are delivered within annual operating plans.

They will be the key leadership figure within the organisation e.g. taking on the SRO (Senior Responsible Officer) for key elements of the Trust’s strategy and as part of overall delivery of the Buckinghamshire Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

The postholder will also engage with the ICS and Place to align system and place strategies with the Trust strategy and refresh the BHT strategy as and when required.

They will need to build and maintain strong regional and national relationships to proactively horizon scan, looking at best practice and bringing strategic thinking into the organisation from outside.

The role will deputise for the Chief Digital and Transformation Officer at Board and Executive level.

Position is based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital with cross site travel required.
