Job overview
Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust have a Trust Specialty Registrar vacancy available to start from April 2026 for a Fixed Term Contract for 4 months with the possibility to extend.
The successful applicant will undertake a range of activity in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with one protected session in the area that they wish to develop further skills on.
At present the department can support further development in outpatient hysteroscopy, colposcopy, medical education, obstetric and fetal medicine and advanced labour ward practice.
ALL applicants MUST have a GMC Registration with the Licence to Practice in the UK.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Responsibilities
- Appropriate clinical responsibility for the care of patients delegated by the consultant to their charge. Co-responsibility for the proper functioning of the department, including supervision of more junior medical staff.
- Running of labour ward with consultant cover on-site during the day, consultant off-site after hours.
- Clinical duties may be at Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville Hospital sites, with on-calls at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
- One protected special interest session.
- Participation in clinical audit.
- Attendance at clinical meetings and case conferences as appropriate.
- Working within the multidisciplinary team.
- Co-ordinating appropriate medical, surgical and allied disciplines concerned with patient care and communicating appropriately with general practitioners and community agencies.
- Clinic duties such as gynaecology and ante-natal clinics, as well as some specialist clinics.

Experience
Essential criteria
- 5 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology - Registrar level
- 1 year UK NHS experience as a Registrar doctor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Ability/Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Thorough knowledge of speciality and ability to work at Registrar level.
- Competencies as per RCOG requirements for completion of ST5
- Ability to make good clinical notes
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Sound clinical knowledge, surgical skills and communication skills
- Ability to cope with stressful situations and take responsibility
- Ability to manage Delivery Suite at Registrar level
Desirable criteria
- Additional skills in fetal medicine, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, laparoscopic surgery
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice in the UK
- MBBS or equivalent
- ALSO or equivalent
- MRCOG
