Job overview

Porter (Endoscopy Unit)

Department:  Endoscopy Unit

Band: 2  pro rata if part-time

Hours: 30 per week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Porter to join our busy Endoscopy Team.

Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) Endoscopy Service is based across two sites: Milton Keynes University Hospital and Whitehouse Park Community Diagnostic Centre (WHP). Our purpose-built units support both outpatient and inpatient endoscopic procedures. The service comprises four endoscopy theatres at MKUH, including one equipped for X-ray screening and laser procedures, and two endoscopy theatres at WHP.

The post will be based at the MKUH site. The main responsibilities of the role include safely transferring patients between the Endoscopy Unit and inpatient wards as required by the clinical team, moving medical equipment in a safe and compliant manner, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support patient care and the day-to-day running of the Endoscopy Unit.

The post holder will work alongside Endoscopists, Nurses, Nursing Associates and Healthcare Assistants to deliver high-quality care to patients across all areas of the department. This can be a physically demanding and challenging role; however, it is also highly rewarding for the right candidate.
