Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Lead, where delegated in the development of long-term capital plans and procurement strategies many of which are on-going and inter-related.
Develop a Programme for delivery of the approved development schemes linked to the Trust’s Estate Strategy and Business Plan.
Utilise the Computer Aided Design packages in order to design, plan and develop appropriate improvement schemes.
Be a key member of the Trust’s Estates Team providing information, designs and organising improvement works.
Play an active role in drafting and implementing the Estates business plan to achieve Trust business and strategic goals.

Qualifications and knowledge

Essential criteria

Degree qualification or equivalent or equivalent experience
Relevant professional qualification to post graduate level or equivalent experience
Budget and Construction Cost Management
Database and Spreadsheets

Desirable criteria

NHS/Public sector Procurement
Current JCT & NEC forms of Contract
Good working knowledge of the aims and objectives of the NHS and Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and how Estates services contribute to those objectives.

Experience

Essential criteria

Project management experience
Experience in a healthcare setting

Desirable criteria

Record of advising on and implementing Health and Safety regimes for construction and engineering contracts within a ‘live’ (occupied) environment

Ability to work accurately and manage large multi-disciplinary projects under pressure
